Cotswold cottage

The clients I worked with on this project were some of my first. Back when I started working for myself they kindly let me help them with their home. From starting with their master bedroom and then working on their grandchildren’s room and downstairs more recently. It’s a very gorgeous little Cotswold cottage and with its cosy and autumnal colours going throughout.

Pink and Green

Back in January I did a really exciting job. The family I was working for designed the extension for their kitchen/ diner. They wanted a band of green throughout and the pink on the top and over the ceiling. It was a bold choice but it looked amazing.

Our History

Jennie worked in the education system before turning her hobby of interior designing into a profession, initially supporting her father in his handy man service, from there she has extended her love of interior design to up cycling furniture. This allows her to finish off your rooms with your old furniture and giving everything a new lease of life.

Jungle Makeover

Back in May I was asked to redesign and re-decorate a small down stairs toilet. It had big square white tiles that were wonky, cracked and dull with a mosaic selection of blue tiles above. With an old small sink and a white floor (not practical with children).

With the client I discussed putting panelling in. it was a great way of covering up the old tiles without having to take them off the wall, two were old original cottage walls and the other two plasterboard walls which would have fallen apart if the tiles had been ripped off. (Voice of experience as I’ve done the same thing in my kitchen).

The client had originally wanted a pale grey colour scheme but then after visiting a hotel on a work trip she had found the most amazing Cole and Sons wallpaper Savuti in aqua and blue. From there I suggested we made the panelling much darker to make the panelling stand out without washing out the wall paper. I took the sample down and matched it to Farrow and Ball Downpipe; however I wanted a harder wearing finish, so colour matched it to the Little Greene oilbased eggshell Scree. This wais a really good match.

We started panelling and replaced the boxing  of the sink and put in a new rectangular sink  which gave a more modern look to the room.

With one wall there was some boxing in, so I got the dark green back ground of the wallpaper to paint all this.

It was a drastic change, but I fell in love with it. I’m not sure I’m brave enough to do it in my home.

Is it for you? Would you be brave enough?
